OK so STRAY was originally envisaged as a section that would connect people with unusual places to visit. But what if we bent the rules a bit? What if we played with words? What if we recognised that it's Christmas and if we're not going to be humanitarian at this stage of the year we are going to rot in the searing acid-fires of hell.

Hippies will tell you that there is no such thing as a 'good war'. To them we say "put down the chamber bong and if your camper van can make it to from Nimbin you should join us for Pod Wars at The Cricketers". Like many battles waged worldwide, Pod Wars is rooted in a concept of democracy - DJ democracy.

The great thing about going to an Aesop store is that even if you don't buy a product, you feel more beautiful anyway. Regardless of which store you visit it's tastefully designed and has a satisfying rather than overwhelming number of products.
The latest addition to the range is a series of four opera gift kits: two uni-sex, one for women and one for men.
There are only two types of people in this world: people who like tapas and idiots. So we went to Bodega - one of a handful of exemplary tapas joints in Surry Hills that keep Sydney's inner city sophisticates well fed and indulged. If words could do any justice to good food we would write about it in exquisite detail.
You can never underestimate the stupidity of majority opinion - value judgements are far better. God knows we make a living out of them here at Right Angle. The Monocle Top 25 World's Most Livable Cities edition is unashamedly a value judgement, but not an ill-informed one. These are people who trawl the world, think critically about what makes life good, and the degree to which a city supports that ideal.
Birthdays are good for you. They must be because the people who have the most birthdays live the longest. So it is with unreserved celebration that we congratulate MONOCLE on a stellar first year in print. In this short time it has turned the whole idea of magazines and news reportage on its head.
Every month a beautifully designed, pristinely shot, assiduously researched, stunningly packaged and well-styled volume hits the shelf with a resounding thud.
At the super-gay end of the male magazine spectrum you get chiselled men and bad bad fashion… at the super-straight end you get articles on Shane Warne and equally horrendous fashion. But the real tragedy is that there are hardly any decent magazines between those polar opposites.
Now in its 6th issue, FANTASTIC MAN is the vanguard of men’s magazines for editorial, design and style – a knight in shining armour (made by Prada) that has come to rescue men from the clutches of vanilla publishing.
