Say no to the boring old album, instead turn your photos into little works of art with the clever Photoclips from Lomography. These clear pegs join your pics together to make almost anything you desire. Create long chains, a photo-curtain, photo-lamps...the pack even suggests you try fashioning a skirt or top from your happy snaps.
There's just no need to wait around for the first Saturday of every month when new designers can be trawled from your veritable lap. A one-stop on-line hot shop of the yet to be announced in Australian fashion and design, YTBA is giving up-starts a start-up.
I Peck your Pun, Dapple Grey, Chip Chop, Bim Kenesis, Mintabi, Dena Pezzano, IMOK, Lenko and leina broughton are just some of the new comers with many more.
IMOK is the brainchild of two loony ladies from Sydney who wanted to dash some creative flair through the air. And dash they did. Upon wall and t-shirt, skateboard and scarf, IMOK images are somewhere between stencil art, graffiti and high school desktop doodling. Most of their designs feature little critters of contentment among colourful chaos, targeting tweekers that share the IMOK philosophy to create a world that says I'm ok.
No matter how hard you try, sometimes it can be difficult to carve your own identity in the fashion hyper bowl. Melbourne label Jaakan however, refuse to be beaten down by stripy scarves or fluoro skinny jeans and designers Mary Zaf and Pippa Joseph inject their own personality through a collection of vintage fabrics sourced from all over the globe.
Van Hua had a vision in 2003 to create a retail outlet specialising in innovative and daring men's fashion. His Picket Fence Store was born of a
need to educate Sydney men about international standards of style. After a successful start, the store built a name for itself incorporating brands such as manvious, Erica America, material boy, pop issue and Michael.
Garden Life is fast becoming as famous as some of it's A list clients, which include John Laws, Elvis, Cleopatra, and Jesus. But luckily you don't have to earn $11 million a year or be the son of God just to shop there (not that TwoThousand readers would have to worry anyway).
The store is filled with all kinds of pretty bits to lighten up the darkest, most gruesome corners of your home, as well as perfect plants to distract people from the curious ditches in your backyard.
It's all well and good to have a gimmick. Everyone loves a gimmick. But there's also something to be said about people just getting things right. Mint, for example is just a great store. No gimmicks - just an impressive mix of labels and top service.
Girls will find Sass & Bide, Nudie jeans, Denim Birds, Oscar & Elvis, Sewn, illionaire, Milk & Honey, Yasmin, Candy from strangers, Catch & Kiss, Casey Alice jewels, Shardie and Serfontaine.
