As well as being an excellent Italian restaurant, North Bondi Italian is also an exercise in branding that fits (be it a little too snugly) into the Bondi lifestyle. From their business cards, to their target rock'n'roll badges, to the staff clad in denim overalls this restaurant is about image.
Don't get us wrong, TwoThousand is not against branding as long as it is done well, but if you come to North Bondi Italian expecting traditional Italian you are only likely to find that in the cuisine.
Not many people get to celebrate their 50th birthday by publishing a glossy coffee table book, but then the creator of Italian fashion empire DIESEL isn’t your average guy.
Proving all fashion designers are self-absorbed egotists, FIFTY is a homage to the life and times of Renzo Rosso and the mega brand he’s created.

A visual study into the natural world, skip the preface and journey straight into pages thick with illustrations, sketches, photography and prints that burst with life and colour.
Rumour has it that way back in the 1980's Uchi Lounge served as a one stop shop for Japanese business men wanting to indulge in the delights of Sydney while maintaining the culinary comforts of home. High-class ladies of leisure dripped in Dior made conversation, and afterwards did some dark deals to a Coltrane soundtrack.
There’s no shortage of ethos options being slammed in all directions at any given moment. Let alone the hounds of ‘culcha’ who are only too happy to advise that you obey your thirst, or think different , or just do it. You can go the Kleindestine culture-jam option or you can filter out what inspires.
Growing pains are all part of growing up and in the last year TWOTHOUSAND has gone from infancy to puberty and right on through to rest safely in perpetual adolescence.
