In Dickens' The Old Curiosity Shop, the wheels of calamity were set in motion when the protagonist's grandfather borrowed money he couldn't pay back.

Curated by Marsu Homme and a gaggle of the label's way-hip designer and artist friends including Beat Poet, Saint Augustine Academy, Elke Kramer, Matt Weston and Izrock, this new curiosity shop has the goods to cast a whole new generation into financial peril.

With its opulent furnishings, fancy brass lamps, oil paintings and ostentatious morsels, supping in The Victoria Room may make you feel as though you're kicking it in an Oscar Wilde play - ‘Why all these cups? Why cucumber sandwiches? Why such reckless extravagance in one so young?'. If (poorly) impersonating a member of the British gentry does not provide adequate amusement, enjoy your Tiffin with tunes supplied by a rotating roster of 2SER and FBi DJs and cut some antique rug my good fellows.

I tried to be witty about this but there's just too much to explain. Daniel Askill's new exhibition ARTEFACTS FROM THE FIFTH RITUAL is an insight into his new work in progress, UNIVERSAL MACHINE. As a stand-alone exhibition this showcase of video, sculptural and photographic work, is nothing short of visually stunning.

A NIGHT OF HORROR had its gruesome inception three years ago as a one-day event of short local, oft bloody films. Today it has expanded, with 80 features, shorts and animations from 14 different countries on the agenda. To be accurate it's actually 10 nights of horror. While the whole program is to die for, spine-tingling standouts are MUM & DAD, touted 'the best UK horror film of the last decade'; the creepy midnight screening and Australian premiere of the grindhouse du jour MIDNIGHT MOVIE and the Shorts Program 2 - a Sunday afternoon of H.

Sydney's increasingly ubiquitous market scene has spread through the suburbs to become an all-you-can-eat buffet of vintage clothing, designer wares, books, art and music. All mouthwatering fare, but let's not forget the Sizzler model - quantity don't mean quality. Let's also not forget that all markets aren't created equal.
