Sometimes, when two different things meet and create, the most beautiful outcomes arise.
Nashi pears, Eurasions, those little shitsu/pomeranians - all obviously superior races.
This has happened to Lee and Me. Half cafe, half boutique, Lee, Ben (the 'Me') and their beautiful lady friends have birthed a superior child.
The ultimate nerd dream goes something like this:
1. Infiltrate others with chosen obsession
2. Train and prime the masses
3. Gather new army
4. Sit for hours talking about said obsession
In Balmain, this dream is in action. All the better for us, because it involves coffee. Executed in a warm, nooked, muffin-filled space, the hatted kids of TLM make coffee, sell coffee and teach coffee.
We love markets with the best of them. In fact, a large part of our weekend is spent trawling Rozelle, Paddington, Bondi and Glebe, distractedly looking at the same stalls and being overwhelmed by the smell of sugared peanuts.
And then it happened. A cool, dark den of market was born, giving us not only new hope, but new clothes.
Remember the time that sending your risotto al-funghi back to the kitchen meant having it return with some sort of suspected spittle included? Or when your well-done steak just wasn’t well done enough, and addressing the waitress with this led to a look of fear and disdain?
She knew what they would do to your food in the steaming galley of the kitchen.
