Although the mere mention of it draws laughter, shame and definite sense bewilderment from people...I'm not afraid to say I'm a nerd and proud. If nothing else it's forced me to use my brain for something other than counting the amount of beers I had after a big night out and that can't be such a bad thing.

I had been watching this shop space on Fitzroy Street anxiously anticipating the arrival of an exciting new store, and when Coco Repose finally opened just over a month ago I wasn't disappointed.

This gorgeous little boutique features a selection of owner Jessica Guthrie's own one-off and limited edition designs, as well as hand-sourced antique and vintage clothing from the late 1800s -1960s.

Koko Espresso Bar

I know it's a pretty broad statement but I think Koko Espresso Bar on Holt Street has the best coffee in Sydney...well maybe that is a gross generalisation...but it's at least the best you will find in Surry Hills.

People come far and wide to get a flat white here. While I'm lucky enough to have my studio right around the corner, I have been known to venture down out of office hours just to experience the joy.
