Love it or hate it, Purple Sneakers is one of Sydney's longest running indie nights. The Sneakers crew started mashing up and social snapping before the advent of fluro and up-brims (remember those days) and have provided a platform for many a local DJ. Tonight they launch round two of their annual photo exhibition.

Even at 11pm and one show down, Daniel Kitson is on fire. Partnered with the lungs of Gavin Osborn, Kitson's storytelling prowess and rapid-fire words tell the frequently hilarious story of two fellas on a crowded train touching on epic love, warring village idiots and numerous flapjacks. It's late for sure, but it also makes for a wonderful, hour-long bedtime story.

Damo Suzuki gave the wider world 'krautrock'. This sounds like a potato-related disease but actually denotes an "experimental music scene that appeared in Germany in the late 1960s". Thanks Wiki. It's a mix of post-psych and prog rock. It sounds real cool. There are few that do Kraut like Damo.

Why should you pay $30 for Kelley Stoltz? There are a few reasons. One, his music is a cool mix of guitar rock, country croon and shambolic vocals. Two, his touring band includes Mikey Young from Eddie Current Supression Ring. Three, he's playing with locals Richard In Your Mind, who mix a wicked dose of psych rock encompassing a sitar, planflute and air organ.
