Mexicans are awesome. Tamales, sombreros, lowriders, hair nets, chihuahuas, Speedy Gonzales, Salma Hayek, Ricky Martin...Too bad Down Under we can't get much of La Vida Loca. Seriously, most Sydney Mexican restaurants can't tell a fajita from a fagina, and their margaritas? Like a salt-lick doused in Gatorade.
So where's a saucy hombre to go this Cinco de Mayo and eat the sh*t out of some Mexican? Hands down, Café Pacifico, mi amigo. Not only does this cavernous restaurant and bar above an East Sydney garage consistently serve the best Mexican grub in town, the vibe is as festive as a hot tamale bumf*cking a jumping frijole, andale andale! They've got wacky stuff hanging all over the walls, delicious margaritas, and it's always filled with fiesta-ready feasters. Last time we were there they even had a vato all blindfolded up and beating a piñata. Mucho gracias, mas cerveza, por favor.
