Ignore the cold hearted hag serving behind the counter; the delicacies in this lovely cake shop are worth the trauma. The trauma of satisfying your sweet tooth while packing on the pounds. The choices are abundant: six different flavours of cheesecake, Greek pastries and shortbreads, meringues, petit foures so candy coloured they'd put Marie Antoinette's baker to shame.
There's also a selection of tasty savouries like hot pies and sausage rolls, but we highly recommend the Tiropites: ricotta and fetta filled pastries at only $3 a pop.
Christopher's Cakes is a quiet haven away from the pressures of Crown Street. You won't bump into anyone you know, which is just perfect. So sit and sip Greek coffee while pretending you're aboard the ship to dessert heaven; we guarantee, you'll be coming back for more.
