Taking risks can pay off, or at least that's what we've been told. If you're unfamiliar with this line of thinking, then a visit to Duffy's Bistro will assist in your enlightenment.
The menu swings from Depression-era favourites such as Steak and Kidney or Corned Silverside to multicultural exposés like Chicken Schnitzel Parmagiana. You'll get a hefty helping of any of the specials for the nice price of $8.50, but you certainly won't come with a smile from the staff - they're not interested. You can, however get a glass of fruity house white from the bar to complement your risk for $4.00 (or $3.00 from the cask!).
Steer clear of anything that looks too handled like the Beef Rissoles, AKA, "Mystery Balls". The chef, you see, looks like he was dropped straight out of an eisode of ‘You Can't Do That on Television'. And when it comes to the other specials, be wary yet daring. You never know what Duffy's will give you: high-grade gastric satisfaction or perhaps vibrioparahaemalyctus. (It helps to say that out-loud).
Oh and if you live in the inner city, you'll need to fish out your drivers license. You know - that thing that gets you into the Mandarin Club.
