There's nothing sexy about Golden Century. It's got kitsch ‘80s-era Chinese cultural décor, (gold-leaf dragons and red furnishings), a mess-hall atmosphere and the manger wears a double-breasted suit (have a look here).
But the FOOD! Oh sweet baby Joysus! It's the BEST place in Sydney for Chinese food. How can we tell? Because every night, yes, every night, it's packed with Sydney's Asian population and the occasional high-flying businessman treating his staff to thousands of dollars worth of live King Crab and expensive champagne. And that's an awful lot of crab, because the menu prices, like the décor, are stuck in the ‘80s as well, so you can eat like an Emperor on a peasant's budget.
