After being greeted at the counter by surely the cutest of all deities, Ganesh the Hindu elephant god of arts and sciences, this is the place to try some of the tastiest and most authentic Indian food in Sydney. The menu is all vegetarian but the complexity and variety of flavours ensures that no matter what you order, it's all great!.
Our favourite has to be the Thali - a delicious selection of curries accompanied by rice and Indian breads. There is a Punjabi and South Indian version, both featuring the most mouthwatering blend of herbs and spices. Their Dosas are also amazing - the biggest and crispiest you have ever seen! These are fermented lentil pancakes cooked quickly on a grill and stuffed with a variety of fillings. The Masala Dosa is an all time winner. Team these with a mango lassi, a yoghurt-based North Indian drink, and your have a meal fit for a Maharaja.
As an added extra, the restaurant also has an amazing array of traditional Indian sweets. Most are incredibly sweet, many based on sugar syrup and condensed milk, but definitely a taste sensation.By Lyn & Tony

TwoThousand is a subcultural guide to Sydney, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Sydney writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence TwoThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
