An Eastern Suburbs institution for the better part of 20 years, Mickey's is the local milk bar you never grew up with as a child of the ‘80s and ‘90s.
Catering to every taste under the sun, the menu is an exploration of the culinary world, with Mezze platters, salads, risottos, pastas, mexican, pizzas and gasp...burgers. There's also the double page spread of desert options to tantalize the most resilient of taste buds.
If, like me you're a bit of a night owl, don't worry, Mickey's is open till 12am. In the later part of the evening you'll find lingerers and locals in the courtyard sipping chai lattes or indulging in the ‘Sundae Challenge' (a $30 serving for two of vanilla and choc ice cream with rocky road, cherry ripe and honeycomb amongst a concoction of other seriously naughty sweets).
Otherwise if you're just stopping by, try one of a long list of thick shakes such as the highly recommended ‘Mars Bar Cheesecake', ‘Cookies and Cream' or ‘Honeycomb & Choc Fudge'.
