Nothing quite displays one's cultural ignorance and unworldliness like finding a shop and going "that's weird, right?" or "how cute!" So I'll avoid banging on about the name (except to say I think it's completely amazing). Coming straight outta SoKo, crazy motherfronter named Mr Dduckbocki & Miss Kkochi is a tiny little place on the northern end of Pitt Street's burgeoning Korea Town. It's a simple affair - a counter serving various snacks, almost all of which are described by the lovely staff as 'Korea-style'.
Having never been to Seoul, Korea-style seems to involve frying or deep-frying the food and skewering it - flavour on the run. From the awesome chilli rice-cakes and kimbabs to the slightly more western-style hot dogs, this hopefully signals the beginnings of genuine street food in Sydney. About time we caught up.
