Most of us have found ourselves stranded on Oxford Street, in dire need of caffeine, a little privacy and something good to chew on. Perry Lane is one such a haven. Tucked away in a lane just off Oxford (the town-hall end), Perry Lane offers great coffee and even better variations (our favorite is the Genera - a tasty latte with a slice of orange rind).
Breakfast is good, but lunch is by far the best - with the toasted-chicken-Turkish, a Paddington legacy. Staff are friendly, but sometimes need reminding. Yesterday as we ate lunch, the lady at the table beside us didn't get her soup. When she politely enquired it seemed the waiter also forgot her apology. Still, Perry Lane is well worth a visit.
