Physically, Plan B could be more innocuous - it wouldn't be easy, but it could be done. They could remove the outside tables, for instance, which would leave almost a hole in the wall. Or maybe ditch the signs, but that's about it. The place is tiny. Such is the fashion of sandwich stores of note, as Malibu fans can attest.
But behind this humble facade lies a giant. Plan B is essentially a pit-stop for the Becasse kitchen, packaging its might into sandwich form.
Having the weight of a two-hat restaurant behind your lunches will draw a crowd, if only for one offering: the wagyu steak sandwich. The 10-15 minute prep time means two things: you need to call ahead, and, there's magic happening back there. This is the Rolls-Royce of take-away lunches.
