This end of King Street can be treacherous. It's like the Bermuda Triangle of the inner-inner West: you find a shop you like, you mark it down on the map that lives inside your brain, but when you head back to find it later, it's vanished! Swoosh! Gone. Then you try again the next week and there it is, all chirpy and 'where you been, bro?'.

Paranormal phenomenon or a long, narrow street playing tricks on a bruised Sunday brain? We'll let you be the judge of that, just don't feel bad if you fail to locate this cafe in the first instance - you're in good company and when you do finally arrive, it'll be well worth it.

You'll be greeted by doting waitstaff, fed perfect coffee, and directed towards the specials board, which usually features dishes spiced with Lebanese and Mediterranean notes. Think haloumi and pea pancakes, scrambled eggs with spinach, mint and feta, za'atar roasted tomatoes and date bread. Order like a King (you'll be able to - the prices are humble) on the off chance you never find it again.
