Once upon a time, a television show called Strangers with Candy rocked TwoThousand's world. Having the same name as this seminal masterpiece (pure coincidence apparently) Strangers with Candy The Restaurant didn't have to work hard to impress us.
Luckily, SWC both worked hard and impressed us by being totally swell and having great food. While occasionally a bit pricey (dinner mains approach $30), the menu is interesting and the food fresh and well prepared. The peaceful courtyard is a great place for quiet achievers to enjoy a delicious lunch. And while some might criticise the fact that the menu rarely changes, we find it reliable and comforting respite in the grand prix world of Surry Hills eating (glass half full, baby!).
Breakfast is always a winter warmer (even when it's not winter or particularly cold). And the bright fitout is so cute that we'd come back even if it didn't have the same name as our favourite show of all time
