Neighbourhood dining is not familiar territory for most Sydney-siders. The hustle and bustle of the daily grind is enough to make even the most social butterfly retreat to their sanctuary at the end of the day. But sometimes we need to step outside our comfort zone and converse with those outside our inner circle. Owner and proprietor of Table for 20, Michael Fantuz, seems to think so anyway. "Sydney can be pretty cold at times...we get so caught up our day to day lives that we just stick to our immediate groups". TwoThousand agrees, and It's time for change.
Table for 20 maintains that: "There are 193 normal restaurants in Surry Hills. This is not one of them" and they are not kidding. Once diners call or text Fantuz and book a seat at the table, all that's left to do is turn up by 8pm with a bottle of red and your most engaging conversation and he cooks for you. With 10% of all proceeds going back to the Hope St Mission, it's easy to justify this one of a kind dining experience.
