Chic and discreet as a French courtesan, Tabou is the kind of restaurant TwoThousand has been lusting after ever since we saw BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF. And while you might be concerned that French eateries are all fried meat, fondue and frogs legs a' la Thierry Mugler, Tabou is an exercise in elegant restraint.
Step inside the glass front and discover comfy simplicity: a wood floor and rows of tables decked in crisp white linen. However, if you're after something slightly more private, choose a spot within the rose-coloured boudoir upstairs.
Frenchies have a truly unsentimental approach to little critters, so when it comes to choosing a main dish there's a selection of finest rabbit, quail, chicken and veal you're likely to taste in Sydney. No doubt after a hearty dose of creamy sauce and red wine you'll be stuffed, but any decent high roller wouldn't leave without sampling the delectable platter of mixed cheeses and matching wines for dessert.
