It's surprising what one can find in the bowels of Surry Hills. Within this maze of intestinal narrow back lanes and congested industrial warehouses, cafes are popping up like free radicals. In an effort to contribute to the detoxification of Mary Street, Toast Café is a little recess of roughage.
True to its word... you get toast. Wood fired sourdough, spelt, traditional rye, multigrain, fruit, Turkish, what have you. But there is much more to
Toast. There are things that go with it. Soup, salad, frittata, and any manner of toasted sandwich fillers.
Word is,you get the best of toast at brekky. Of note are the poached eggs bruschetta with tomato and onion. And while TwoThousand is yet to give the Mexican breakfast a whirl, we can't help but be a little intrigued with scrambled eggs and jalapenos wrapped in tortilla with tasty cheese, tomato and sour cream.
