I keep complaining about having no money. But the truth is, since someone showed be how to use eBay last Friday I am actually a millionaire a few clicks away from liquidity. I could get an average of 50 cents for each of my two million possessions for sure. More on that later.
Megan Deal is one step ahead. She's a designer from Detroit who is moving to Alabama to start from scratch in a fully equipped design lab, developing community projects. Anyway, she's selling every single one of her possessions before she goes. Stuff like "one jumbo knitting needle", "one light sensitive, colour changing fish key chain" and "one zip lock bag full of foam balls". In other words, the exact same crap you have.
Megan's possessions are truly terrible. But the important thing is, people are buying them. She even sold a handful of pipecleaners! Genius. Megan will have to change her identity once this is over to make sure people don't say "hey there's that chick who sold me the out of date vitamins that make me nauseous." But, unlike the Selby, her site will make you feel good about your bedroom.

TwoThousand is a subcultural guide to Sydney, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Sydney writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence TwoThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
