Growing up in the quiet, beautiful and boring confines of New Zealand, I find myself feeling an unhealthy affinity for the place now I don't live there. This affinity has grown to include anything at all that touches the hands of any Kiwi. NATURAL SELECTION is one of those things, not that it isn't absolutely justified.
Put together in part by my university art and design teacher Warren Olds and edited by Gwynneth Porter and Dan Arps, NATURAL SELECTION is a free Australasian art magazine available as a downloadable PDF that readers are encouraged to print out and bind at their office (while they should be working). Obvious political diatribes aside, the magazine makes for a great craft project (complete with a colour-me-in cover each issue!) on a Friday afternoon, and perfect reading on a Sunday.

TwoThousand is a subcultural guide to Sydney, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Sydney writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence TwoThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
