The term expat has been sullied of late; made synonymous with sexploitation and loutish behaviour. But for the Sydney four piece Expatriate, getting the pretty boys and the f*#ked up girls dancing is all that’s on the agenda. And if we know anything about expats, it’s that causing a ruckus is what they do best, especially when it comes to the ladies.

Expatriate have been running amok over the last year, supporting the likes of The Presets, Wolfmother and the Fiery Furnaces, with each performance leaving more disco casualties in its wake.

Their debut EP LOVERS LE STRANGE is a neat cross-section of Expatriate’s musical ability. A sound weaving in and out of The Cure and Sonic Youth, the dreamy rock single 'The Spaces Between' is infectious. The kampish, synth fuelled 'Killer Kat' is made for cheek quakin’ booty shakin’, while 'Get Out, Give In' ends up like aural Poprocks Candy – exciting and poppy, and then sorta cool and relaxed.
