Contrary to popular belief, it's a bad idea to give acid to pre-schoolers. They already can't tell fantasy from reality, so when their shoes start singing it kinda bums 'em out.

However, it's a great idea to drop acid and produce a kid's dance show for your local public access TV station in Braidwood NSW. That's what it sounds like The Bumblebeez had in mind on PRINCE UMBERTO & THE SISTER OF ILL a rambunctious, fun-loving low-fi indie-hop rollercoaster. No doubt party tunes are the current genre-of-choice for indie rockers the world over. But PRINCE UMBERTO is arguably the first to smoothly incorporate both ends of the spectrum: ironic T-shirts, meet neon visors; limited edition sneakers, meet faded jean jackets.

This surprisingly diverse clutch of tunes takes in everything from Gorillaz mellow jams (‘My Girl') to Dandy Warhols garage pop (‘Freak Your Loneliness') to white-boy grime (‘Pump Up The Bass') to Parliament dance funk (‘Dr. Love'). Their songwriting has improved, and the production has tightened, with even more inventive, squiggly, inimitable production flourishes. Check it: this duo's bag of tricks runs deep, so deep. So deep they'll put your butt to sleep. So tune in, turn on, and drop the bass. No LSD required.
