Tapes n' Tapes wear their Pavement influences proudly on their flannel sleeves. And we’re ok with that. In fact everything on their debut, THE LOON seems to be from something else. And in a time where very little is new and everyone is obsessed with 80s cool, Tapes n' Tapes have managed to produce an album that really sings.

They've found a middle ground between passion and practice and it begs for repeated listens. It's like the boy in your year 7 class who wore his Dinosaur Jnr t-shirt while you and your mates were copying New Kids on the Block. If you were lucky he'd come with you to their concert, and maybe even hold your hand. But unlike the other schoolboys he never got a flat top or a rats-tail and he was a hundred times more interesting for it.
