The world is going to end. The UV Race know it. They tell you on the final cut of their new album. Story has it that when the calendar ticks over to December 21, 2012, that's it. Lights out. But what's the point of worrying about something that's out of your control? Those that had the chance to catch UV Race live at Flip Out know that they seem pretty intent on not letting a presupposed doomsday spoil their fun.

There is a level of tension and anxiety present on this debut LP though, that suggests UV Race are worried. Not so much about the end of the world, rather about the everyday things that affect them; like being taken for granted, being ignored, society's prejudices and its imperfections.

Musically, UV Race deliver slabs of proto-punk, echoes of psych, Velvet Underground keyboard stabs as reimagined in the 80s and some sexy sax blasts. So pull on those pre-apocalyptic blue suede shoes and dance the doomsday shuffle.
