Listening to Sydney band Bearhug is like enveloping yourself in a Bearhug of indie goodness; catchy indie rock, with yelpy vocals and crisp guitars (it always reminds me of the late, great Cap'N Jazz...).
They've got style, class, and just a little bit of smart ass - which we love. What's more, they're playing this weekend at DIRTY SHIRLOWS
1. What makes a great mixtape?
Anyone ensnared by TwoThousand's iron-fisted mixtape regime
2. What's your favorite song on the mix, and why?
We were too jacked up on amyl and disco music to remember tracklisting
3. What three words describe a Bearhug live show?
Earnest, altricial and breezy
4. Name your ultimate live show, three bands/artists, alive or dead?
Lance Reddick, Tom Waits and Idris Elba/DJ Driis
5 . What's next for Bearhug?
In a month or so our EP "To Anything" will be released and we'll tour that, in the immediate future we are playing Rat Vs Possum's album launch at Dirty Shirlows on Saturday the 29th May, then the Fire! Santa Rosa Fire! album launch at OAF Thursday 3rd of June.

TwoThousand is a subcultural guide to Sydney, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Sydney writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence TwoThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
