It's screeching guitars and vocals that are so bad, they're good. You'll start to want to punch everyone around you, and we mean that in a good way, like Judas Priest. Stab! Bawl! Punch! Crawl! Another Taylor Square brawl seems likely, especially when the Ripping Dylans will be warming you up.

With the current bombardment of alternative music flicks, most of us have been left unimpressed. AJ Schneck's, About A Son, is what we've been waiting for. Based on over 25 hours of never-before-heard interviews, its told entirely in Cobain's voice. Making it more of an autobiography, wiping out the possibility of yet another faux art-house film.

Hailing from Puerto Rico Town in New York City, Justice of the Unicorns is a peculiar band. And not just due to their cover art. Within the sound of this five-piece, one might hear vocals variously reminiscent of Nick Cave or My Morning Jacket, drumming that is The National-esque, a musical variety like that of (appropriately) The Unicorns and strange innocence akin to Bright Eyes.

Her lyrics may sound threatening. She'll Hammer your toe like a paediatrician. She'll saw you in half like a magician. Tear you down like she's in a demolition and court you out like she's a mathematician. Robyn is a powerhouse of a little blonde Swede who will pop your socks off so hard, you'll give into anything she says.

Let's face it - despite the consciousness-raising, spiritual, communal sense of enlightenment and massive endorphin rush they inspire, drum circles suck.
Toronto's HOLY FUCK don't wear ponchos or play hacky-sack, but they do kick out some tribal motherfucking jams. And instead using bongos or pan flutes, they employ old Casio keyboards and lo-fi drum machines mixed with live bass, guitar, and noise.
