Back in 1862, there was a battle between the Mexican army and the French. The battle was really important because it would be the last time that an army invaded the Americas. Outnumbered two-to-one, Mexico had a lot on their plate. They won though, and to celebrate, Mad Mex is putting a lot on your plate (and in your cup) for a measly five bucks.

The specialty at the ostensibly Spanish bistro of this old pub is chicken schnitzel, done in a myriad of ways: parma, Mexican, Mediterranean, cheesey, Hawaiian, and so forth. These all have one common aspect: they don't fit on the plate. Literally. Not even close.
Sometimes, you need a gimmick, a theme - in literary terms, a conceit.
When you think 'William Street' and 'hole in the wall', nice images don't really come to mind. But when you start thinking of fresh Vietnamese rice paper rolls, vermicelli salad and steamed dumplings, pleasant thoughts start flooding in.
With the help of a friend, we discovered MissChu. After spending time in the catering biz she opened up this serviceable little hole-in-the-wall that deals out dumplings and other nice tasting bits.

We couldn't agree on the best laksa house to review so we had a laksa-off. These are the results:
Alice: I believe that my laksa was far superior, but must concede that Angela's Eating World has a much more authentic ambience. The TVs are backwards, like a mirror reflection! Weird and wonderful, but sorry that doesn't make up for the baby corn, packet carrots and budget tofu in my bowl.
