We adored them as The Hope Street Markets, but that doesn't mean we love them any less as The Finders Keepers. This time around Sydney's home grown seasonal design markets have legged it to Carriageworks, bringing everything from clay pots to yoga mats with them. Stocking more designed flavours than Baskins (coupled with a cafe that definitely serves better coffee than Baskins) this Summer in the city is off to a heady start.

Life was a little bit different before cute Japanese girls invented amazing photo booths, or before you could trick your mum into getting the biggest school photo pack so you could trade portrait shots with your BFF's. Let us enlighten you. See, 200 years ago, a French man invented Carte de Visite.
Three afternoons of film and talk? Compared to the exhausting three-week grind offered by other Australian festivals, the inaugural Destination Festival's tightly curated selections and candid panel discussions sound like bliss.
Week One features international cinema, notably the Australian premiere of WHOLPIN VOLUME IV, the DVD magazine from everyone's favourite hipster overlords Dave Eggers, Brett Hoff, and MCSWEENY'S.

TwoThousand is a subcultural guide to Sydney, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Sydney writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence TwoThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
