Inner city office workers unite! No longer must you spend your obligatory Friday team lunch within the confines of a dimly-lit pub. Finally, there is sunshine and fresh air, and finally, there is fine food, cheese and wine tasting (from the bottle not the cask).
The Hawkesbury Harvest Market brings a fete-like atmosphere to the city's doorstep every Friday for four hours.

Do you like a meal paid for with coupons, with a side of drag? Do you like eating in an inner city park, sharing with 30,000 of your closest friends? Ok yes, this is a test. We're ranting about the Sydney Food and Wine Fair of course, and we pity the fool that doesn't take advantage! As with previous years, 10 of Sydney's finest restaurants sell their food for as little as $3 a dish, while singers, dancers and a drag show try to pull your attention away from the front of the line.

River Cottage Forever, Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall
This is another one of those cooking shows that I seem to be addicted to at the moment. There is something mind-numbing about watching cooking, leaving plenty of time to entertain the other side of the brain with any computer heating up your region.
The show is about Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, a British chef who spent a brief period as a sous-chef at River Café but was made redundant for "being messy" and "lacking discipline".
Rider
There is a lot to be said for ‘above awning retail’. This is because, for one, there is always a view. And for two, traversing a flight of stairs brings a strange sense of anticipation - a feeling that you’ve stumbled on something before the rest of the world.
Above the Hopetoun Hotel, Rider serves out Mexican fare from an old English kitchen.
Nothing over ten $
Around Bondi, unless you’re eating a fuzzy salad or soft serve cone, it’s hard to find a feed for a flat tenner. So you can imagine (and possibly feel) our joy at the emergence of a no frills restaurant in what was one a semi-posh eatery.
Apart from paper tablecloths (which you can now draw on with rainbow crayons) the décor from the space's exy days is largely unchanged.

A few months ago, I was talking to a friend who had just gone through a breakup after a long relationship. She turned to me and said, with a completely serious look on her face, that a good dessert is better than sex. At the time I thought that she'd found her sweet tooth a step up from a bad lay, but then I discovered Pat and Stick's Ice Cream Sandwiches.
