BATS. is a Brisbane based zine made by a collection of girls with an average age of 16.6 years. They might be collectively underage, but what they lack in adulthood they make up for in attitude and street-sense. In fact, being 18 never made anyone any smarter or for that matter, cooler. BATS. is satirical, it's dark, it's original and it truly hits the nail on the head when it comes to a triumphant first-issue-zine.

With these chaps, it's all about getting involved; in 2006 the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) paced the pathways of Omnibus Lane (en route to the Powerhouse Museum) to catch punters offguard with their graphic antics. Cue (among other shenanigans), a pedestrian crossing with exclamation marks declaring ‘Design saves lives.

You have a while to catch this one, but nothing piques the interest better than a bit of blood and guts. Am I right? Don't pretend to be all demure now. I can see you there reading this with CRIMINAL MINDS on in the background. Well, this exhibition's for you. Set in two locations; an old doctor's studio and an adjoining tunnel, the exhibition will be showing work from local emerging artists as well as featuring the work of Adam Cullen.

On a Wednesday the Beach Road Hotel is all about a cold beer and a lineup containing a relative (yet well sorted) pick-and-mix of Sydney's highly talented, yet lesser known DJs. This week features DJ BMX, Spruce Lee, Tha Fizz, Chow Crack, Dead Mike and Saynt. It's a much needed midweek winter escape to Sydney's iconic summer suburb when the sun continues to tease us with its presence.
