For those of us who never got too frothing-at-the-mouth crazy about math class, here's an example of geometry that should've been taught in school. It may just send your sensory pleasure receptors into overdrive. Like 1970's sci-fi flicks, or the architecture of the former Soviet Block, even 1950s Modernism.

Little local folklore for ya - Flying Fajita Sistas flew up to Sydney late last year from Wollongong, bringing along a tasty range of killer margaritas, a staff of friendly, beautiful women, and a name destined to be referred to the "Flying Vagina Sistas" (by me, at least). Do you think they play these?
OH, about the food - let just say this is now neck-and-neck with Café Pacifico for the BEST Mexican in town.
If THE CASTLE had been set in Sydney, simply putting a link to the movie up would have been enough to explain the romance of Greyhound racing. For those of you unfortunate enough not to have seen it or still on dial-up, the dishlickers are the affordable option to those other, more regal races over at Royal Randwick.

For some, the phrase 'a night at the Roxbury' will evoke memories of the 1998 Will Ferrell monstrosity. For others, it is synonymous with a mid week comedy night. This Sunday prepare yourself for a new 'night at the Roxbury' - Melodica, which promises 'a night of acoustic delights'. The gig showcases some of Sydney and Melbourne's finest singer songwriters such as Lucy Hall, the Hazelman Brothers and Ray Mann.

The term "mom and pop shop" gets thrown around a lot. But how often do you rock-up to a shop actually owned by a ‘mom' and a ‘pop'?
Vera and Lee Ross have run Recycled for over 30 years, they're ‘mom and pop' to Millie Ross, (whose fantastic Lilac Menace zine they still stock), and their shop is chock-a-block with great stock (including T-shirts from Upper Playground).
TwoThousand first came across Gillian Tennant in the ramshackle bustle of the Glebe Market. Amongst the fluro T-shirts and vintage bags, Gill's dresses stood out like a naïve Sandy amidst a pack of T-Birds.
Treading the line between a youthful Birkin (the woman not the bag) and cheeky Edie, the fashion student's first collection uses light linen and cotton, with proud buttons and delicate lace.
Before the organic insurgence, the Pad Thai revolution or the Market empire, Glebe Point Road just had Badde Manors.
Perched Doctor Seuss-style on a lopsided corner and totally vegetarian, the tea-room institution has been serving coffee, tea cake and crispy sweetcorn for longer than any one who goes there can remember.
