Plastic cups = party. They = birthdays, barbeques, and (with a bit of string) an entertaining novelty hat. For Andy Uprock however, they = a different kind of art. Using the happy medium of a plastic cup, Andy has turned fences from Surry to Bondi into walk by galleries. This Friday at the OAF he unveils a 10,000 recycled cup installation and photo exhibition that will put the zaniest novelty ‘cup hat' to shame.

If art galleries were pin up babes, May's Lane would be a suicide girl. Covered in coloured ink, hanging out in a back alley and draped across the gutter.

New York City has a smell. It starts wet and warm, in the guts of the subway. It steams up through manholes on the roads and wafts over gargantuan Hummers and Chevys that monster down the streets. It clings to the boroughs: drenching freestylers in Brooklyn, soaking b-boys in The Bronx, dousing graf stars of Manhattan and perfuming hos in Queens.
