Lula Magazine

10th Nov 08
Format: Magazine
Motivation: Pimp your coffee table

LULA is the kind of girl you'd have a crush on. Or be intimidated by. Or want to be best friends with. Or all three. She's a babe (of course), and talented, and effortlessly cool to boot. Her style is all old-fashioned cameras, 70s dresses, patterned stockings, heavy mascara. She'd live in an apartment where the wallpaper is peeling off, but it would be held together lovingly by a litter of poems and polaroids.

Natural Selection Magazine

Theft: Theft is a risk

Growing up in the quiet, beautiful and boring confines of New Zealand, I find myself feeling an unhealthy affinity for the place now I don't live there. This affinity has grown to include anything at all that touches the hands of any Kiwi. NATURAL SELECTION is one of those things, not that it isn't absolutely justified.

doingbird Magazine

1st Oct 08

There are so many fashion culture-led periodicals around that it truly does take something quite considered to cut through the sea of all of them. DOINGBIRD, published by local Photographer (my band mate and good friend) Max Doyle and Art Director Malcolm Watt, really accomplishes this. Ignoring any of my own involvement, it defiantly pulls together the best creative talent from around the globe.

The Monocle, World's Top 25 World's Most Livable Cities

2nd Jul 08

You can never underestimate the stupidity of majority opinion - value judgements are far better. God knows we make a living out of them here at Right Angle. The Monocle Top 25 World's Most Livable Cities edition is unashamedly a value judgement, but not an ill-informed one. These are people who trawl the world, think critically about what makes life good, and the degree to which a city supports that ideal.

I.D Magazine

20th Feb 08
Format: Magazine
Motivation: Kill twenty minutes dead

February is when i-D puts an issue together just for the boys. This one is packed with menswear editorials from trench coats to pyjamas, and interviews with 'men's men' like actor Javier Bardem and food face Fergus Henderson. Read about clever men making clothes (designers Thom Brown and Simon Neil Barrett) and beautiful men wearing clothes (the new crop of male models), men skating, men taking photographs, men spinning records and men with beards (i-D says they're back in fashion, duh).

S magazine 6

30th Jan 08
Format: Book
Motivation: Cancel all plans

Hello, my name is S MAGAZINE. I come from Denmark, making me Danish. I feature the work of many interesting photographers and lots and lots of naked people - breasts and penises are a forte of mine.

Sure, I might make the odd grammatical error, like the phrase ‘mainstream conscious of society', but you'll forgive me, won't you? After all I've done for you, I really think you owe it to me.
