With a new crop of musos dusting off their guitars, and jamming away in the backyard it can be hard to keep track of the next big thing. But here's a hint - Peregrine, The Dawn Collective, Jack Carty and The Party, and The Shipwrecked all in one line-up - you can't go wrong. This bill looks so fresh Woollies could use it in a weekly specials brochure.

I met Jack and Angie when I first moved to Sydney, at the time they were playing in an amazing band called Kiosk. Circle Pit is their new project and it is arguably even better. St Helens are making the trek up from Melbourne and are also an incredible band. It will be great to share a bill with the both of them again, especially at such a great venue.

It's a strange paradox when your nan has a better mobile than you do. While she surfs the net downloading tunes to her iPod - she is a true ‘silver surfer' - you rummage through her garage looking for old vinyl.
Old makes way for new right? And ironically, older items become more coveted with that exchange.

We've made it. All the way back to '60s. The Paisley Palace promises a mind-bending excursion through the most obscure psychedelic obscurities Sydney has to offer (we're assuming these aren't chemically based). They are however, vintage psych from The Dolly Rocker Movement, something laid back from The Laurels and an intoxicatingly obnoxious blend of punk psych from the Straight Arrows.

Sitting at home, under the doona, watching grainy docos about Joy Division and The Clash on DVD is a boon. But it also makes one wonder why Australia hasn’t moved to capture its own music on grainy film (excluding the endless Farnsie “goodbye” tours). Fret not – a couple of guys from Melbourne have done it.
Sydney Non Objective (SNO) is focused, as the name suggests, on the non-objective: art that is not representational and doesn't feature recognisable figures or objects. The factory space has four main gallery rooms and a sound project facility, so they are able to host as many as five shows a month.
