There is a certain art to Vintage shopping. Pawing through racks of moth-scented gowns, skirts and slightly discoloured shoes, one needs a goal (or at the very least a friend who will call nanna nightie over nu-vogue). As part of Rosemount Fashion Week, these Vintage Markets bring together a range of seasoned clothes horses over one weekend.

POSSIBLE CURRIES promises to free you from art's continual disappointment. Hosted by Bababa International, a self-described group of 'highly trained, multi-task professionals' dedicated to 'labouring for society's needs and interests', this exhibition promises to be nothing usual. With previous exhibitions including fake show invites, hijacking bathroom cubicles and having artists literally eat their own work.

You have a while to catch this one, but nothing piques the interest better than a bit of blood and guts. Am I right? Don't pretend to be all demure now. I can see you there reading this with CRIMINAL MINDS on in the background. Well, this exhibition's for you. Set in two locations; an old doctor's studio and an adjoining tunnel, the exhibition will be showing work from local emerging artists as well as featuring the work of Adam Cullen.

Degustation is an amazing way to eat. It holds my short attention span and keeps both mind and tastebuds interested. However, there is a certain amount of prep involved to commit to a degustation. For one, it takes a strong mind to pass up on lunch or an arvo snack. You have to commit to it and prepare to indulge.
W.C. Fields once said, "never work with children or animals," but he was a strange man. Petrina Hicks works with both, and she does it well. She's a master of ambiguity - traversing lines between truth and falseness, perfection and imperfection, innocence and cynicism.
With starkly simple compositions, flat antiseptic lighting and extensive digital manipulations, her subjects are impossibly neat, excessively flawless, and somehow dehumanised.
With a focus on uncovering emerging Australian arts in a variety of formats, THE POPULOUS CAST is like the Dick Smith brand of exhibitions. Over 100 works will feature, from 15 mixed media artists including Shannon Crees and several others from the Red Bubble community. Abstract art not your thing? Check out the figurative painting.
