Georgiou's Chocolate Factory
Surprisingly, there are two chocolate factories in Petersham. One is a high profile apartment block and the other is the real deal. Floor-to-ceiling confectionary; made locally and imported from the ends of the earth. This might not have anything on Willy Wonka, but it does carry the saccharine nostalgia of 1980s milk bars and 1c lollies.
Petersham Charcoal Chicken
Portuguese fare is not (despite the over-proliferation of certain fast food outlets) only about the chicken burger. Trust me I've been to Portug... Petersham. They also do whole, half and quarter chickens - all flat and slow roasted over hot coals with a proven selection of herbs. This ensures that it tastes amazing even if, god forbid, you forgo the house-made chilli sauce.
Shades of Green
What is rad about living in Sydney is that there’s a whole bunch of junk to do on the weekend. Often there’s too much. Making you stress about whether you’ve chosen the right thing, text your friends constantly, and then end up spending only minutes at each, all the while cursing geography and the passing of time and thinking “why can’t there be a single place that’s a genuine grab bag of options?” And you cry a bit.
