In an effort to match our southern siblings' enthusiasm for Melbourne Cup Day, we've come up with the Two Thousand top three Cup pubs.
1. The Royal Hotel- probably best if you want to pretend you're actually trackside. Dress to the nines and act as if the tab is a bookie.
2. Shakespeare Hotel - once you've lost all your hard earned on mystery trifectas and the office sweep you aren't exactly going to be on a champagne budget.

The Bellevue Hotel
It can't just be our imagination. It's the plain truth, good pubs are getting harder to find as more and more venerable old watering holes are being "refurbished" (aka crapified). Have faith! Here's an old stalwart for you.
The Bellevue is in the heart of Paddington's best pub neighbourhood with nearby boozers such as the Four in Hand and the Lord Dudley making this prime drinking turf.
