Ten years ago when someone said the word ‘bling' you may have thought of a gnarly rapper from Oakland talking about his diamond-encrusted grill. These days when you hear it, it's more likely a middle-aged woman talking about the cubic zirconia earrings she bought off eBay. The term is so far gone that the only way to save it from dying a middle class death is to overcompensate by making it so ironic that it reverts back to its original form.
No disrespect friend-who-learnt-how-to-knit-last-week, I love my new 'scarf'. All seven inches of it. But I may need some back-up when it comes to protecting my extremities from the brutal Winter cold. I need no nonsense scarves with a super serious website. I need gloves that have seen a thousand winters.

Until I met View Of Courage, silk scarves only existed in large, horribly patterned groups in thrift stores, and around the necks of Bondi's elderly Russian population. Now they can exist on everyone, even your "slightly-metro-boyfriend". They're individually designed and painted on 100% italian silk georgette, in black, white and sometimes a little red or yellow.

TwoThousand is a subcultural guide to Sydney, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Sydney writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence TwoThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
