You like tits? Me too. Nice, big, juicy-ass tits. Don't come at me with no half-a-handful titties, that's a deal breaker, no sale. I wanna woman who can give me RSI in all the right places, if you know what I mean... Do you know what I mean? Yeah, me neither. I'll tell you this much though - the dudes that make the bestest breast-related zine in the world, TITTY CITY, have also made a bunch of awesome t-shirts that you should buy because, guess what? They feature those big, fat, jaw-breaker tits we all know and love.
It's a shame that slogan T-shirts are lamer than a guy who just got stabbed in the kneecap with a wasp knife, because the other day I was inside my closet looking for the doorway to my secret den (from whence I once sent emails to prospective publishers regarding my manuscript "Hello Cleveland: A Band That Never Made It Outside Ohio") when a box toppled from the shelf, bringing with it a flood of memories.
The term "mom and pop shop" gets thrown around a lot. But how often do you rock-up to a shop actually owned by a ‘mom' and a ‘pop'?
Vera and Lee Ross have run Recycled for over 30 years, they're ‘mom and pop' to Millie Ross, (whose fantastic Lilac Menace zine they still stock), and their shop is chock-a-block with great stock (including T-shirts from Upper Playground).
A T-shirt says 1000 words. Well, maybe not 1000. You'd need to have a pretty big ponch for that. But artfully done, tees can say a lot about their wearer. Take ‘Vote for Pedro' (late majority/laggards) ‘I heart New York' (post 9/11 national pride, pre 9/11 cheese ball) or ‘Beer Singh' (just back from trip to Bangkok, also bought fisherman pants and 50 pirate DVDs, half of which don't work).
Here at TwoThousand, when we hear rumors of something good we suss it and try and spread the word. So when we heard that there was someone cooking up tees that were channeling Helmut Lang (with a price range channeling General Pants) our hands were at the ready over the keyboard...
The first step was the Google search.
From time to time, fashion shuns its caviar and cocktails to crusade for a cause. And for all the superficial industry tendencies, when it comes to influencing global opinion - the fashion pack have power.
That's why TwoThousand is proud to sponsor the Australian influx of LENY, T-shirts that get A-listers to pimp their design skills for good.
With great hightops, hats and all sorts of frivolity happening in the winter fashion spectrum, the mid section has been largely ignored. How can we make this up to the part of our body that puts up with the cropped coat, the bolero and the slogan tee? Of course! We've found the perfect antidote in the comfy cotton of the tees from People Like Us Collective.
