We love the way they pash in old movies. We love the way the square-jawed wise guy manhandles the boozed-up floozy to the point where his sweat-soaked machismo and her lusty femininity collide in a tremendous mashing of lips. And we reckon American artist Glenn Barr loves it as well.

A graduate of the lowbrow art scene in Detroit, Glenn is known for his contributions to the pop surrealist art movement ie shadowy, apocalyptic landscapes populated by doe-eyed dames and martini-quaffing cyber-babes. But in his first show in Oz, he's brought together a bunch of different works.

On one hand you've got comic-book classics like ‘Bored and Horny' (Best. Title. Ever) featuring Betty Rubble, fag in mouth, withered expression on her face with a single pert breast jutting out of her dress like exclamation mark. On the other, hand-drawn sketches of a lingerie-clad torso (‘Landscape with Bra') and high-heeled ankles in a hallway (‘Stewardess') trade pop kinkiness for relaxed, curiously genuine intimacy. Both styles make this show definitely worth a peek.
