Description
By their own admission, Crooked Fiddle Band are "like a pig with shark's teeth". By that, the Sydney quartet mean they take a multitude of world music, rip it apart and make it their own, with plenty of added bite. The group delivers gypsy punk mashed with bluegrass, swamp and near-metal in a dark, frenetic hoedown. To balance things out Emma Davis is supporting, whose creamy voice and dreamy tunes are so sweet she's like a cloud with sunshine teeth. - JB

TwoThousand is a subcultural guide to Sydney, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Sydney writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence TwoThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
