Let's face it, most people are selfish. We take a lot of things for granted, whether it's our job, our friends, our parents, or where we live. We look out for number one, and that's about it. This is why, when you come across someone like Paul Moulds, Captain of the Oasis Youth Support Network, it makes you reflect on how lucky the majority of us are. Paul's dedication to the kids of Oasis is documented, over two years, in the documentary, appropriately titled, THE OASIS, which recently appeared on ABC TV. Some of the incidents that occur over the course of the documentary include trying to stop kids from burning down the building, visiting a maximum security jail, dealing with a meth-induced psychotic episode, and taking a ride with the Salvos Outreach van into the red-light district of the Cross. After watching the film, it made a friend of ours quit her job and go back to Uni, where she's now studying to be a social worker. Powerful stuff. - DW
