Imagine we could use chroma key greenscreens to get away from it all - just super impose ourselves onto a backdrop of choice, and be gone.
For his installation BAD FAITH, Sydney artist Adam Costenoble drew on ideas of self-imposed exile, transgression from civilization, and the notion of living an independent, self-sustained existence in geographic isolation.
Currently on show at LOCKSMITH, the work features a small cubby-like cabin that Adam constructed out of scrap timber, and video footage of him making it overlaid with green screen technology against a background of an idyllic bush landscape.
LOCKSMITH is a new artist-run initiative in Alexandria that has a policy of not charging rent for artists to use the space. It also won't take commission on works that sell. Crazy! But that's why we like it. Keep an ear to the door for music nights, video screenings and more exhibitions.
