Next time you boil the kettle, stop and think about your relationship with it. Why? Because jewellery designer Shaun O'Connell says so.

When his grandmother's Kambrook stopped working after more than a decade of faithfully boiling water three times a day, Shaun was determined to fix it. This he did, and to grandma's delight, also replaced the switch with gold.

Shaun then set about repairing and rejuvenating all sorts of broken cheap appliances with gold, in a glorious sort of repaired service.

This collection, alongside photos and videos of their users, are part of an exhibition currently running at GAFFA. LOADED also features a series of collected personal objects from around the world by fellow jeweller Vernon Bowden. When your kettle goes clunk, you know where to go.
