Around Bondi, unless you’re eating a fuzzy salad or soft serve cone, it’s hard to find a feed for a flat tenner. So you can imagine (and possibly feel) our joy at the emergence of a no frills restaurant in what was one a semi-posh eatery.
Apart from paper tablecloths (which you can now draw on with rainbow crayons) the décor from the space's exy days is largely unchanged. This means we can ‘dine’ on fish and chips, chilli pasta and creamy risotto for the equivalent of a few dimes. Weekend breakfasts here also come in under budget – fried eggs, fresh cucumber, tomato and oregano claim a healthy $9.50. And after that? A takeaway coffee for a shiny $2 and straight to the beach - in true Bondi style dahrling.
