Sydney Non Objective (SNO) is focused, as the name suggests, on the non-objective: art that is not representational and doesn't feature recognisable figures or objects. The factory space has four main gallery rooms and a sound project facility, so they are able to host as many as five shows a month.

After 34 exhibitions without a gap the guys have taken a well-earned extra long summer break, but this weekend the SNO season returns with two new shows opening on Saturday afternoon.

SNO 35 will run from March 8 - 30 and includes work from SNO Group member Tony Triff alongside Stephen Little (UK/Australia), Roger Crawford (Sydney) and P.J. Hickman (Brisbane). The sound artist program features Bernd Schurer (Berlin). Also included in the show is Melbourne artist Andrew Gutteridge, whose distorted canvases are finished with a mirror-like black enamel, and occupy a space somewhere between painting and sculpture.

Working across a broad spectrum of art forms, all of them will be exploring possibilities of non-objective art, and all of them are well worth going to check out.
