Homestarrunner

15th Mar 06

OK, OK! The ruse is up! We admit it: we don’t actually know how to read. So while we spend the next seven days struggling through our MR MEN and SPOT bath books in the hope that we’ll have something to review for next week, we recommend you click on the delightful HOMESTARRUNNER.

This site, filled with brilliant flash cartoons that would make SOUTH PARK flee to the country to start a new, quieter life, has been around since 2000. It focuses on a group of absurd characters loosely linked to the dopey athlete Homestar Runner. Our favourite part of the site is where character Strong Bad answers emails allegedly sent in by fans, such as in the most brilliant cartoon of all time CRYING. Other amazingness lies in the “Toons” section where a TV WEEK-like interface lets you watch the latest instalment in a number of regular features.

Possibly TWOTHOUSAND’s favourite website for its pop culture references, self-referential humour, loveable characters, and sheer volume of content, HOMESTARRUNNER is literally hours and hours of entertainment for the whole family (ie you and your cat…until it left you, that is).
